Technicaly
co-sponsored by
The University of Colorado at Denver
University of Wyoming

IECON'01 is an international conference on industrial applications of electronics, control, robotics, vision and sensors, signal processing, instrumentation, automation, artificial intelligence, computer networks and emerging technologies. The objectives of the conference are to provide high quality of research and professional interactions for the advancement of science, technology, and fellowship. Papers with new research results are encouraged for submission. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

COMPUTATIONAL INTELLIGENCE
Industrial applications of neural networks, fuzzy algorithms, evolutionary computing, and intelligent systems. Chairs: Okyay Kaynak, Turkey & Kim F. Man, Hong Kong.

MECHATRONICS
Robotics, intelligent sensors, industrial vision, actuators and motion control, and autonomous mobile robots, multi-sensor fusion, micro-electro-mechanical systems, and integration, Chairs: Kouhei Ohnishi, Japan  & Man H. Lee, Korea.

SIGNAL PROCESSING AND SYSTEM CONTROL
Advanced control and measurement, computer and microprocessor-based control, data reduction and signal processing, estimation and identification techniques, instrumentation electronics, automotive electronics, and non-linear control systems. Chairs: Rokuya Ishii, Japan & Alberto Tonielli, Italy.

FACTORY AUTOMATION
Factory communications, flexible manufacturing, manufacturing system architecture, industrial automation, process automation, CAD/CAM/CAT/CIM and LANs. Chairs: Imre J. Rudas, Hungary & Richard Zurawski, USA.

POWER ELECTRONICS
Power electronic devices and systems, high frequency power converters, digital control of power electronics, energy systems, electrical drives, static VAR and harmonic compensations, and analytical and simulation methods. Chairs: Bimal K. Bose, USA & Marian Kazimierkowski, Poland & Krishnan Ramu, USA.

EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES
Electric vehicles and intelligent transportation, industrial applications of internet technologies, industrial applications of multimedia, application specific IC's, integrated systems and processes, wireless communication. Chairs: Leopoldo Garcia Franquelo, Spain & Toru Yamaguchi, Japan.

SUBMISION OF PAPERS
The working language of the conference is English. The preferred submission format is PDF (*.pdf), but other formats such as postscript (*.ps) or WORD document (*.rtf or *.doc) will be acceptable too. The postscript is less preferred because the file size is usually 10 to 20 times larger than PDF and WORD formats have printer dependent layouts. Papers submitted for review should not exceed 6 pages. Traditional acceptance rate for this conference is about 75%. The final version of the accepted papers must follow the IEEE Transactions format. This format is also recommended, but not required for the initial submission.

Submit papers electronically to http://sant.bradley.edu/~iecon01/ or http://www.ewh.ieee.org/soc/ies/iecon/
